The typical resistor consists of a ceramic housing with two connecting wires. On the inside, a carrier is coated with a resistive material. Depending on the layer thickness and material, the different resistance values are created.
The specific value of a resistor can either be found out with a measuring device or determined by the colour code on the resistor. The coding allows the value of the resistance (ohm) to be read and the tolerance (%) to be determined.
