Students will:

Content

By means of different seminars, students will explore tools, skills and production methods of current and emerging technologies (eg. Arduino, Motion Capture, 3D Scan & Photogrammetry, etc) to deepen their master's projects while prototyping and testing ideas.

Creative procedures, methods, hypotheses and explanations are put up for discussion while practical exercises allow an examination of explorative and knowledge-oriented processes.

The resulting project's explorations can take the form of interactive installations, immersive experiences, videos, and prototype artefacts or performances.

Skills courses descriptions

Creative coding
This seminar series covers sensing & acting and data visualization. We focus on the role of technology and its relevance for design in contemporary contexts and in future scenarios.

Physical computing
Understanding the characteristics of interaction with digital and physical objects and the technologies behind them. Conception, planning and implementation of solutions to interaction design problems. Knowledge in electronics, microcontroller programming, sensors and actuators.

Immersive Arts (optional)
A transdisciplinary module to learn how to create immersive experiences by using Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and their combination by using the technologies of the Immersive Arts Space. Participants work in group with students of other disciplines and will get to know practical methods, procedures and software, including 3D scanning, photogrammetry, motion capture, projection mapping, game engines. A special focus will be put on the intersection of reality and virtuality.
