Overview

Introduction to Web technologies. Course is part of «Basic GUI 2019».
Overall goal of the course is to help you acquire a general understanding of how the internet and the world wide web evolved and what kind of technologies are useful for you as a designer. It should help you building interactive interfaces quickly, provide you with a powerful tool to make interactive prototypes or share information in a very accessible way.

Grading

The grades will be based on two individual exercises and will account for 25% of the overall Basic GUI grade.
80% attendance is mandatory. Missing more than 20% of the lectures will result in a failing grade.

Deliverables/Exercises

  1. Product Detail
    Every student lays out a product detail layout using HTML and CSS.
    The product should at least include an image, a description and a list with key features/product attributes.
    Delivery via Email (ZIP, WeTransfer) to jonas.scheiwiller@wearelucid.ch.
    per 10.5.2019. Exercises handed in later than 24:00 on the 10.5.2019 will receive a lower grade.

  2. Shopping cart/Any part of GUI
    Every students develops her/his personal «shopping cart»/or another part of their GUI built in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
    The part shows some interactive elements!
    Delivery via Email to jonas.scheiwiller@wearelucid.ch containing links to published page on github pages, the github repository itself and a completed text file (template sent via email).
    per 9.6.2019. Exercises handed in later than 24:00 on the 9.6.2019 will receive a lower grade.
