Pros: Reasonable handling of water surfaces

Cons:

  • Medium Processing speed

  • Only works on iPhone 11 and above

Pros:

  • good quality

Cons:

  • Relativily slow Processing, dito

  • not so well with transparent objects

  • Poor handling of water surfaces

  • not free

Plaftorms: Android (not all devices) & iOS

Capture/Scene Types: Nature, Object only,  Solid objects and human 

Model Types: Polygon only  

Pros:

  1. Easy to adjust angles and scenes that needed to be captured

  1. Very fast processing

  1. free

Cons:

  1. Need to keep Processing process running in the foreground

  1. work worse than polyscan in my opinion

  1. More pictures better(use vedio)

Capture/Scene Types: Objects Only, Nature

(0.8m / 2.5m / 5m)

Model Types: Polygon and Gaussian Splat

Pros: 

  • Intuitive UI, would show the areas not scanned as striped in polygon mode

  • Realtime Gaussian splat generated (draft qaulity) in gui 

  • Fast processing

  • Okish handling of water surfaces

  • Free

Cons:

  • doesn't work on all devices

  • Need to keep Processing process running in the foreground

Export Options: fbx, obj, glb, usdz, stl, ply, las

Pros:

  • Great for sharing work online (runs directly in browser)

  • Quick setup

Cons: 

  • Gets slow with very large splat scenes

  • Sometimes shows strange artificats on poor scenes, especialy if there is gaps in the capture

Notes:

Pros:

  • Dynamic live visuals

  • realtime inputs

Cons:

  • seems to need more trial and error to get really nice splats

  • for high resolution license is needed
