Exercise 1 Spatialize

Work individually

• Read the excerpt from Perec’s “Species of Spaces”

• Redo the exercise in the vicinity of Stadionbrache

• Adapt and update the basic exercise in a way that you think fits (eg. filter out the male gaze from the 70’ies)

• Follow the rough outline of the observations and add as many as needed

• Write a short text about your observations and add a personal sketch of the place, dynamics, routines, rhythms, etc..

• Think about which non-present factors structure and influence the space physically and in your mind (digital technologies?) and add it to your description

• As the very last thing to do, think about which environmental data could be recorded to capture and represent most of your interest in the place in time
