Exercise 1 Spatial Characters

Yesterday we read and discussed the chapter “What is the space of bodily presence?” by Gernot Böhme from his book “Atmospheric Architectures”.

Find your own examples of the three types of characters that spaces can have according to Böhme:

• movement impressions

• synaesthesia

• social characters.

Find the actual spaces in your immediate environment not more than 10 minutes away from Toni Areal. Document them, upload your documentation on the server (path below) in a folder with your name and be ready to present your findings in class.
