General

Every year, the IAD organizes a 4-days career excursion for the 5th/6th semester students. It usually takes place in February.

The goal of the excursion is to travel to a city in order to meet with local design agencies and discover a vibrant cultural scene, where we can widen our horizon and get insights into different fields. Together with the classmates and a lecturer of the IAD team, we visit agencies and museums, take part in guided tours or undertake other design-relevant activities. There is also time for some non-design-related things in the evenings.

It is part of the curriculum and students get ECTS points.

Costs

The costs depend on the destination, transportation, accommodation and other details of the excursion. The IAD contributes CHF 150.- per person upon receipts.

Previous destinations

The lecturer decides on the location, students are welcome to make suggestions, including of agencies and places to visit.
